We at moringa partners received this info asking if anyone knows of peace corps collaborating with moringa farmers in Nigeria or in any other country on the continent.
It seems the Peace Corps is actively involved in a Moringa project in Togo and Benin. Nigeria was not listed among the countries on their site . Check the link below.
Here is an extract from their article for Togo. QUOTE
Through public service announcements, songs, local radio talk shows, strategically placed billboards and a Moringa festival, this project hopes that the heart of its information campaign will become a reality in Togo by the end of 2009: "Plantez. Mangez. Vivez" (Plant, Eat, Live). UNQUOTE
For Benin there was a demonstration in 2008 in processing of the moringa leaves by Peace Corps Volunteers.
You are right Joan, I am in link with Peace Corps volunteer Christoph Herby of Moringa Association of Benin who is very actif and went through the link for more information, and I believe that the requester can take note.
I'm sorry Theo, I cheated instead of going back to youe email address. I finally found moringa tea leaves in 110 tea bag packages. The company is here in the U.S. and is called Amazing Greens Inc. I thought you might want to keep that in mind if anyone like myself was looking for the tea . I find I like it better with a bit of green tea mixed with it to add to the flavor.
Dear Carole, don't mind, we know how generous you are in sharing experiences; we are in a forum where we promote moringa and its potentialities , and learn more from researchers and from different actors for the good of mankind. I've observed that Amazing Green Inc had made a lot of advertisement recently. So I think you will share your experiences with Amazing Green Inc products with us after sometime.
for yr info, we (SUN for LIFE) have been working with the Peace Corps and USAID in Madagascar on mo projects in Mada, the involvment and results were not outstanding but the spirit was good, kind regards, Zoy
